AGE OF RAGE

Age of Rage
2020

18 x 26 in
charcoal

The era that we’re living in has become a time of great rage. The more people feel powerless, the more rage they feel. The injustices they feel are real, yet what can be done to alleviate the conflict that inevitably arises?

This drawing was started in 1988 while living in New York City in response to the Tompkin’s Square riots at that time. Income inequality and police brutality were the issues then. My, how things haven’t changed. I had the start of the drawing from back then that I revisited in 2020. It seemed relevant again with the Black Lives Matter movement, so I finished it with improvements.
